  • Cosmetic Dentistry

We will help your smile look great with our professional services in whitening, veneers, full mouth reconstruction cases, and more! We focus on increasing the aesthetics of your teeth in color, position, shape size and overall smile appearance. Our goal is to provide you with an exceptional smile to show off!

Whitening – Teeth whitening done in a professional dental setting is a safe and effective way to brighten up your smile. Being one of the most economical cosmetic dental procedure as well. See In-House 3D Printed Whitening Trays for more information.

Veneers – Veneers are thin coverings that are placed over the front part of your tooth that look like natural teeth. Veneers can be used to correct a wide range of dental issues, including stained, chipped, crooked or damaged teeth. They can even help conceal uneven spaces between teeth. Dental veneers are a great option for aesthetic cases due to limited removal of your natural tooth structure.

Crowns – A dental crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed over a tooth to cover the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and improve its appearance. The crowns, when cemented into place, fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line.

  • Same Day Crowns

Crowns – We now offer same day crowns at our Lake Nebagamon and Hayward locations! This technology allows us to place your permanent crown in one day instead of multiple appointment times. This state-of-the-art process reduces the chance of complications with delivery when working with a temporary tooth and time seating your new crown. Instead of waiting upwards of two weeks for your new final crown to be placed, you will leave our office that same day with your permanently cemented crown in place.

When should you consider a crown?
A crown can be used to fix 3 different problems. It can be used as a cosmetic solution, they conceal discolored or misshapen teeth. A protective solution, they prevent a weak tooth from breaking. Or a finishing touch, they cover a dental implant.

At Lawler Family Dentistry, we place a dental crown in 3 steps!

    1.   Your Lawler Family Dentistry care team will begin preparation of your tooth for the crown.
    2.   We will take a digital scan of your teeth and begin milling your crown right in the office! Feel free to take a seat and relax as our in-house lab takes care of perfecting your new tooth.
    3.   After about one hour, your final fitting is here! We place your permanent crown, make any needed adjustments and cement it into place.

  • Restorative Care

Dental Fillings – A filling is a custom restoration that your dentist places in the cavity after cleaning and sanitizing the tooth. Cavities or caries can create a hole in your tooth that is caused by tooth decay and grows larger the longer it's left untreated. Dental fillings are a great option for treatment. We offer different filling material options to achieve the best quality for our patients.

Bridges – A dental bridge is a procedure that offers a solution to patients with missing teeth by filling the space with a false tooth that looks and feels natural.

    Benefits of a dental bridge
A dental bridge can help your teeth work together to chew, speak and smile. When you lose a tooth, the nearby teeth may shift and misalign. A dental bridge procedure can help restore the natural fullness of your face since it acts as an artificial tooth replacement solution.

    Options beyond dental bridges
When considering all your tooth replacement options, dental bridges are an excellent aesthetic solution for missing teeth if the surrounding bone is sturdy enough to support it. You may also consider other treatments, like a partial denture, or single-tooth implant. You can find more information about our implants under the surgically guided implants tab!

Onlays and Inlays – At Lawler Family Dentistry we can create a smaller restoration option than a crown with our in-house laboratory. After taking an intraoral scan of your mouth and doing the needed preparations, your care team will be able to design and mill a new restoration on that same day that is perfect for your tooth. A dental onlay is used to cover the cusp of the tooth entirely. A dental inlay covers inside the cusp, rather than covering a cusp. Onlays and inlays use a crown material, instead of a filling restoration, making them more durable.

    Benefits of Onlays and Inlays
We offer same day in-house lab-made onlays and inlays. They are often more durable than fillings, which is beneficial for chewing and have a lower rate of failing over time than fillings because of the better bonding material that can be used.

  • Tooth Extractions and Surgeries

Tooth Extractions – Teeth are terrific when they are functioning properly and healthy. Our team will help you in efforts to preserve them through preventative care. Sometimes, removing a tooth may be what is best for your oral health. You may need a tooth extracted due to severe tooth decay or gum disease, an impacted wisdom tooth, or an emergency, sometimes like when a tooth breaks in an accident.

    Replacement of teeth
You may be wondering what you will do with a missing tooth. Luckily, there are several replacement options from bridges to dental implants. We do offer same day implant placements in certain cases so ask Doctor Ethan or Doctor Laura what would be the best replacement option for you!

Bone Grafting – There are many reasons bone grafting is recommended after extraction. The most common reason for bone grafting is to restore and rebuild bone in efforts for a potential implant placement. After an extraction, you may be wondering what tooth replacement options are available to you. Doctor Ethan may recommend a bone graft to insure that there will be enough bone in the future for an implant placement once the healing is completed.

  • CBCT Surgically Guided Implants

Your Lawler Family Dentistry team is proud to offer implant placement options with the use of a custom CBCT surgical guide designed and 3D printed in-house! We use the latest technology with our full CBCT scan and an intraoral scan of your teeth to allow us to design a custom surgical guide. This allows the surgical procedure to be performed with limited tissue trauma, quicker appointment time, more precise implant placement, and overall, a more comfortable procedure during surgery and after.

  • Preventative Care

Preventive dental services include routine oral exams, X-rays, cleanings, mouth guards, Occlusal guards, sealants, oral cancer screenings, and fluoride treatments. Educational instruction such as proper brushing and flossing methods is also considered the best way to prevent tooth decay. These treatments are considered preventive because they’re aimed at identifying and stopping early dental issues before they arise.

Oral Exams – We offer standard oral exams. Whether you are taking tip top care for your teeth, or haven’t been to a dentist in a year. We give oral exams that you can feel comfortable with. Giving you instructions on how you can either maintain your teeth, or give you a diagnosis of how you can better treat your teeth.

Oral Cancer Screenings – During an oral cancer screening exam, we will look over the inside of your mouth to check for red or white patches, and mouth sores. Using sanitary methods we will also feel the tissues in your mouth to check for lumps or other abnormalities. We will also examine your throat and neck for lumps.

Fluoride Treatments – Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resilient to acid attacks in the mouth, from plaque bacteria to sugars. It also reverses early decay. Fluoride becomes incorporated into the development of permanent teeth, making it difficult for acids to demineralize the teeth. Fluoride also helps speed remineralization as well as disrupts acid production in already erupted teeth of both children and adults.

Sealants – Dental sealant is a thin, plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth, usually the back teeth, to prevent tooth decay. The sealant quickly bonds into the depressions and grooves of the teeth, forming a protective shield over the enamel of each tooth.

Sports Guards – Sports guards are a protective mouth guard worn on the upper teeth during sports to prevent an oral injury. This helps protect against broken teeth, cut lips, and other damage to the mouth. We also recommend utilizing sports guards for patients that have fixed dental appliances or wear braces. Mouthguards are an essential piece of athletic equipment for anyone participating in a sport that involves falls, body contact, or flying equipment.

These are designed and made specifically for your athlete. We take an intraoral scan of your mouth and digitally design your mouth guard based on your teeth! Since they are custom fit, they provide the most comfort and best protection.

Occlusal/Night Guards – The term “occlusal” refers to the surfaces of your teeth that are used for chewing. When you are damaging those surfaces by clenching or grinding your teeth, an occlusal guard may be recommended by your Lawler Family Dentistry Care Team!

    Custom Occlusal Guards
We are able to make your occlusal guard with the use of our in-house laboratory! We will take an intraoral scan of your mouth and digitally design an occlusal guard based off of your teeth. Doctor Ethan designs, 3D prints, and adjusts your occlusal guard all in-house. This allows a custom-made product that fits your teeth perfectly and a shorter delivery period.

  • Periodontal Care

Periodontitis, also called gum disease, is a serious gum and bone infection that damages the soft tissue around teeth. Without treatment, periodontitis can destroy the ligament and eventual bone that supports your teeth. This can cause teeth to loosen and become wiggly or lead to tooth loss.

The earliest stage of gum disease is gingivitis. Gingivitis can usually be controlled with good oral hygiene and professional cleanings from your Lawler Family Dentistry Care team. Your team will teach healthy and smart oral hygiene habits to help prevent gum disease.

    Scaling and Root Planing
If your gum disease has progressed past gingivitis, it is termed periodontitis. Periodontitis is the loss of bone surrounding a tooth and is usually treated by scaling and root planing. This treatment may be done over more than one visit, depending on your personal needs. Scaling is when your hygienist removes plaque and tartar down to the bottom of each periodontal pocket. Then, the root surfaces of your teeth are smoothed, or “planed,” to allow the gum tissue to heal and reattach to the teeth. This allows easier at home care, preventing future tooth loss!

  • Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD)

Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are disorders of the jaw muscles, temporomandibular joints, and the nerves associated with chronic facial pain. Any problem that prevents the complex system of muscles, bones, and joints from working together in harmony may result in temporomandibular disorder.

    Treatment Options for TMD
To properly treat your pain, your Lawler Family Dentistry team will ask you questions and gather more information regarding your experiences and your concerns. Some treatment options for jaw pain include the use of occlusal guards, also known as night guards. This can help prevent clenching and grinding your teeth at night. Night guards used to be made with an impression, but now we can digitally impress using our intraoral scanners. This allows a cleaner, more comfortable capture of your teeth, while allowing us to deliver most night guards within two days.
